RD Hot take: You don't have to earn summer
There's so much pressure this time of year to optimize. The summer body, the reset, the clean-eating crackdown. And honestly, a lot of you are tired of it. You're not alone: nearly half of people now report "wellness burnout", the point where chasing health starts making you feel worse, not better.
So here's my official permission slip: this summer, do less. Rest, recover, and have actual fun. Because you cannot out-kale a fried nervous system.
OK, fine, I’m not giving you a full pass. But if you think about it, summer makes "being healthy" almost effortless. Here are my favorite upgrades that barely feel like trying:
Drink the water. It's hot out; you'll want it anyway. Iced herbal tea counts (Hibiscus is refreshing and naturally anti-inflammatory). Electrolytes? Try Pique’s

Sleep better, automatically. A day spent walking, swimming, and soaking up the sun makes you pleasantly tired in a good way. Nature does the work; you just go to bed. Still want your magnesium? Sip this.
None of this requires a tracker, a plan, or willpower. It just requires being outside and enjoying your life. So take the trip. Eat the peach. Have the long lunch. Consider this dietitian’s orders.
