Spring Clean Your Diet in 5 Simple Steps

Now that we’re all back from spring break, it’s the perfect time to lean into a little routine and a little spring cleaning. Not just closets (mine definitely needs help), but also our kitchens, habits, and overall nutrition.

If your pantry feels overstuffed or your brain feels overloaded with wellness advice (hello, social media), consider this your reset. Here are a few simple ways to lighten and brighten from the inside out:

💧 Water before coffee, every day.
You know the drill…now actually do it. Aim for 12–16 oz of water first thing, ideally with a squeeze of lemon. Hydration first = better energy, digestion, and focus.

🥗 Try a “whole foods” week.
Take a break from packaged foods, yes even the “healthy” ones. Skip the bars, powders, and chips, and lean into real food:
- Yogurt, nuts (hello, Brazil nuts), fruit, avocado, turkey, eggs, tinned fish. Keep it simple, get creative, and notice how you feel.

🥤 Smoothie mornings = easy wins.
A well-balanced smoothie (protein, fiber, healthy fats) is a game changer for digestion and energy. It’s one of the easiest ways to start your day feeling good. (Recipes linked below)

🍵 Swap dessert for tea.
Give your body a break from late-night snacking and support digestion instead. Try herbal tea (nettle is perfect for allergy season) or hot water with ACV, ginger or both. Bonus: close the kitchen 2–3 hours before bed.  Recover and sleep so much better.

🥦 Add more veggies (they’re back!).
Spring produce has arrived!  Greens, asparagus, snap peas, tomatoes. Take advantage. Aim for at least 2 cups at lunch and dinner for a boost of fiber, antioxidants, and overall feel-good energy.

Fuel your body with what it actually needs (and wants) and watch everything, from energy to confidence start to shift.
