Hello Immunity Hacks, Bye Bye February Flu!

This year, it seems February is synonymous with flu season. If you haven’t caught it yet, we bet you know someone who did–so let’s talk about boosting your immunity naturally with superfoods & effective remedies! We’re sharing the ingredients that we stock in our own homes, which help to protect and prevent illness or, at the very least, decrease the  intensity and duration of symptoms. 1. Fill your produce drawer with kiwisstrawberriesred bell peppers and broccoli! These fruits and veggies are packed with vitamin C–in fact more than an orange–and combat oxidative stress by keeping your immune system in top shape.

2. Zinc plays a crucial role in immune function, helping your body to fight infection and heal quicker. Found in oysters (fancy!), beefcrabcashews and legumes, to name a few. Supplementation is effective too (15-30 mg daily)!

3. Oil of Oregano is a powerful tool that’s anti-microbial, anti-fungal & anti-bacterial. Add 3 or 4 drops to water with lemon (I recommend taking it as a “shot” because the flavor is INTENSE), or take in capsule form (that works too)!

4. Probiotics are key to gut health, which is directly linked to immune strength. Incorporate Greek yogurtkefir, and fermented foods into your diet to help support a balanced microbiome, or choose to take a daily probiotic.

5. Hydration is essential for immune function! Water flushes out toxins to naturally detoxify our bodies and supports immune cells. Aim for at least 64 oz daily.
