Do you don’t need to quit your morning coffee? As a registered dietitian, I’m a huge fan of coffee. Coffee is actually proven to be good for you. It can help to decrease the risk for Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s by 65 because it helps our neurotransmitters in the brain start to fire, so it’s something that I recommend my clients keep in their diet. We just need to make sure that it fits for them.
If you’ve been here a while, you know that I’m an advocate for hot water with lemon before my coffee, first thing in the morning. The reason for this is: hydration before dehydration. Since coffee is a diuretic, it will dehydrate you. So since we get dehydrated overnight, we want to make sure that we consume water before we caffeinate!
