With “back to school” in full swing, now is the perfect time to reset and realign with your nutrition goals. We call it “pre-New Year’s” because after a fun-filled summer, the structure and routine of fall is naturally the perfect time to get back to your healthy habits! So as you settle back into your fall routine, we at Real Nutrition are sharing our favorite tips so you can get back on track, starting now.
Fall Refresh Go-To Tips:
- Meal Planning → At the top of the week, review your calendar. When are you dining out? How many meals will be at home (we call these “no excuse meals”)? Will you need to pack snacks? Traveling? Flying by the seat of your pants often leads to less healthy food choices, not to mention more money spent.
- Grocery Haul Sundays & Meal Prep → Once you know your schedule, it’s easier to shop for groceries–planning leads to less waste all around. We dedicate Sundays to finding recipe inspo and stocking up on ingredients (fresh and frozen) to make meal prep easy. Yes, your freezer is key to easy weeknight meals in minutes!
- Supplements → If you are taking supplements, you know that consistency is key in getting the most out of them. So organize your supplements for the week–set up your AM & PM doses (I put mine by my toothbrush) and never miss a dose.
- Organize your Morning Routine the Night Before → Take out AM supplements, lay out your workout clothes, pack your snacks/lunch, and place your water glass next to the coffee machine so you can hydrate before you caffeinate–no extra brain power required.
