So many protein bars are simply candy bars in disguise – not the RxBar. I love how the ingredients are clearly printed on the front of the packaging so you know exactly what you’re putting in your body. These are perfect for travel or on those days when you can’t quite fit lunch in (yes, life happens!). Make sure to pair it with a bottle of water!
Collagen is getting a ton of attention lately and for good reason. It’s what’s responsible for joint health, supports healthy skin, hair and nails, improves digestion and muscle recovery. In short, if you’re not taking collagen, you should start! I personally take my collagen 1x/day and prefer it mixed into my morning smoothie, but feel free to add it to your morning lemon water, afternoon tea or even into your soup, oats or yogurt!
I recently came across Lavva in my local Whole Foods and was immediately hooked. The combination of the plant-based ingredients, including the pili nut (a new hot superfood!) and coconut, creates a dairy-free, creamy and flavorful yogurt that tastes great and really satisfies. There are no added sugars or other additives, making this perfect for breakfast (add some homemade granola) or a mid-afternoon snack. Original is my fav flavor but they are all really good!
I’m always a fan of a multi-purpose food and Biena Chickpeas are exactly that – a whole food snack, packed with fiber and protein that can be enjoyed alone or even added to soups and salads instead of oyster crackers or croutons! I tend to like some spice (hey a little heat ignites the metabolism!) with my crunch so I’m all in for the Habanero flavor. My kids, however, dig the Ranch!
Daily Harvest has taken the guesswork out of smoothies, bowls and now lattes. I’m specifically a fan of this flavor for the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric coupled with the digestive support of ginger. Swap this out for your 3pm coffee and I promise you won’t miss the excessive buzz when you’ve got all this amazing flavor!
